About Debo Adeniyi
Debo Adeniyi is an internationally recognised leader in sustainability & ESG, he is the Executive Director and Global Sustainability Leader, Centre for Global Solutions and Development (CENGSSUD), and also the CEO of CENGSSUD Sustainability Services Ltd, a sustainability consulting and implementation firm helping organisation integrate sustainability strategies in operations and DNA of businesses.
Mr. Debo Adeniyi is an Environmental and Social (E&S) Professional working with CENGSSUD Sustainability Services Ltd as MD/CEO & Lead Consultant with experience of more than 17 years in providing strategic Consulting and Project Management services for sustainable management of Sustainability Strategy, Assessments, Implementation, Sustainable Finance, Environment, Renewable Energy, stakeholders’ engagement, Materiality Assessment, Circular Economy, Reporting and Assurance, etc. Social and Governance (ESG) aspects of investments by Development Financial Institutions (DFI) including IFC (International Finance Corporation), World Bank, AFDB, Investment Banks, Private Equity (PE) & Venture Capital (VC) Funds, for complex industrial/commercial establishments and other projects. Debo has undertaken and managed a number of projects related to Environmental & Social Due Diligence (ESDD), Environmental & Social Management System (ESMS) Development, Post & Pre-Investment Verification, Implementation of Environmental & Social Action Plan (ESAP), Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Compliance Audits, Environmental Permitting, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environment Management Plan (EMP) studies. He is familiar with IFC Performance Standards on Environmental & Social Sustainability, World Bank EHS Guidelines, ADB E&S Safeguards, CDC Code of Responsible Investing, CDC Toolkit on ESG and other DFI requirements, Equator Principles, etc. and well aware of EHS and Social Regulations applicable to different kinds of Facilities both at the National as well as State Level.
Debo is a Lead Sustainability Advisor, Chief sustainability assurance practitioner with great expertise on, AA1000 Assurance Standard (2008) and the application of (AA1000AP (2018), the GRI G4 Reporting framework, etc.
Debo has also coordinated several ESG/Corporate Sustainability Management Masterclasses/training in Nigeria where over 3000 personnel from various companies and backgrounds have been trained.
Debo holds Master’s Degree in International Law and Diplomacy (MILD) and BA in Philosophy from the University of Lagos Nigeria.
He holds advanced & professional certificates in Corporate Sustainability Management, Environmental and Social Framework Certificate from world Bank, Enterprise Risk Management, Sustainable Finance, Business Innovation, and Strategy, Sustainability Reporting, Assurance, Corporate Governance, and Practice, Public and Private Policy development and analysis, amongst others.
